Happy Birthday Kenneth Monge!

As you celebrate the anniversary of your birth this day, all of us can celebrate with you, and recall this thought gem from the UB:

Do not make the mistake of judging another's religion by your own standards of knowledge and truth. (p. 1115)

Wishing you the very best,
Meredith

Happy Birthday Lisa!

A thought gem for today informs us that:

If any man chooses to do the divine will, he shall know the way of truth. It is literally true, "Human things must be known in order to be loved, but divine things must be loved in order to be known." But honest doubts and sincere questionings are not sin; such attitudes merely spell delay in the progressive journey toward perfection attainment. Childlike trust secures man's entrance into the kingdom of heavenly ascent, but progress is wholly dependent on the vigorous exercise of the robust and confident faith of the full-grown man. (p. 1118)

Have a lovely day,
Meredith

Happy Birthday AM Yusuf!

Here is a thought gem for all of us, as we celebrate the anniversaary of the day of your birth with you:

. . . many who are inwardly sure about God fear to assert such feelings of certainty because of the multiplicity and cleverness of those who assemble objections and magnify difficulties about believing in God. (p. 1126)

All the best,
Meredith

Happy Birthday Coop!

Here's a paragraph for you, for all of us, as you celebrate the anniversary of your birth:

The God-knowing individual is not one who is blind to the difficulties or unmindful of the obstacles which stand in the way of finding God in the maze of superstition, tradition, and materialistic tendencies of modern times. He has encountered all these deterrents and triumphed over them, surmounted them by living faith, and attained the highlands of spiritual experience in spite of them. But it is true that many who are inwardly sure about God fear to assert such feelings of certainty because of the multiplicity and cleverness of those who assemble objections and magnify difficulties about believing in God. It requires no great depth of intellect to pick flaws, ask questions, or raise objections. But it does require brilliance of mind to answer these questions and solve these difficulties; faith certainty is the greatest technique for dealing with all such superficial contentions. (p. 1126)

Have a great day,
Meredith

Happy Birthday ankhmosed!

I hope you have a delightful day in celebration of the anniversay of your birth. And here is a thought gem for today's date:

When reason once recognizes right and wrong, it exhibits wisdom; when wisdom chooses between right and wrong, truth and error, it demonstrates spirit leading. (p. 1142)

All the best,
Meredith

Happy Birthday Istvan Hargitai!

Have a great day today in celebration of the anniversary of your birth on Urantia! Here is a favorite quote for this day:

Man consciously grows from the material toward the spiritual by the strength, power, and persistency of his own decisions; he also grows as his Thought Adjuster develops new techniques for reaching down from the spiritual to the morontial soul levels; and once the soul comes into being, it begins to grow in and of itself. (p. 1282)

As they say - decisions, decisions, decisions . . . !

All the best,
Meredith

Happy Birthday Sheila Schneider and xelalaw!

Here are some thoughts to ponder on this day, as you celebrate the annivesary of your day of birth:

Mortal man is a machine, a living mechanism; his roots are truly in the physical world of energy. Many human reactions are mechanical in nature; much of life is machinelike. But man, a mechanism, is much more than a machine; he is mind endowed and spirit indwelt; and though he can never throughout his material life escape the chemical and electrical mechanics of his existence, he can increasingly learn how to subordinate this physical-life machine to the directive wisdom of experience by the process of consecrating the human mind to the execution of the spiritual urges of the indwelling Thought Adjuster. P.1301 - §7

Best wishes,
Meredith

Happy Birthday brotherJim!

"The Spirit never drives, only leads. If you are a willing learner, if you want to attain spirit levels and reach divine heights, if you sincerely desire to reach the eternal goal, then the divine Spirit will gently and lovingly lead you along the pathway of sonship and spiritual progress. Every step you take must be one of willingness, intelligent and cheerful co-operation. The domination of the Spirit is never tainted with coercion nor compromised by compulsion." P.381 - §5

Happy Birthday amylewis!

I hope you enjoy today's quotes. smile.gif

Evil and sin visit their consequences in material and social realms and may sometimes even retard spiritual progress on certain levels of universe reality, but never does the sin of any being rob another of the realization of the divine right of personality survival. Eternal survival can be jeopardized only by the decisions of the mind and the choice of the soul of the individual himself. P.761 - §4

And similarly,

No man can rob you of the liberty of your own mind. P.1447 - §1

All the best,

Dear HSTa,

Happy birthday! I missed posting a greeting to you yesterday, though I have a thought gem for you. It is short, just five words, but I think it is sweet.

Contentment is the greatest wealth. P.1447 - §3

All the best,
Meredith

Happy Bithday wishes go out today to Gaetan G. Charland, spirit606, Bill Martin, Holly Carmichael!

The thought gem for today is " Recompense injury with kindness." (P.1452 - §2)

But I want to add more on the theme of kindness, so I looked the word up and selected this reference to ponder.

The unfailing kindness of Jesus touched the hearts of men, but his stalwart strength of character amazed his followers. He was truly sincere; there was nothing of the hypocrite in him. He was free from affectation; he was always so refreshingly genuine. He never stooped to pretense, and he never resorted to shamming. He lived the truth, even as he taught it. He was the truth. He was constrained to proclaim saving truth to his generation, even though such sincerity sometimes caused pain. He was unquestioningly loyal to all truth. P.1101 - §6

All the best,
Meredith

Happy Birthday PHIL!

Hope you have a great day. Jesus said in his instruction to teachers and believers:

You shall not portray your teacher as a man of sorrows. Future generations shall know also the radiance of our joy, the buoyance of our good will, and the inspiration of our good humor. We proclaim a message of good news which is infectious in its transforming power. Our religion is throbbing with new life and new meanings. Those who accept this teaching are filled with joy and in their hearts are constrained to rejoice evermore. Increasing happiness is always the experience of all who are certain about God. P.1766 - §6

All the best,
Meredith
